There is no doubt that Streaming music is the gold standard of music distribution, but given the fact that services such as Spotify and Apple Music are paying the artist after 30 seconds of the track being played meaning that musicians are writing theirs pop music in a way to maximize the number of plays per hour by writing short and simple songs that gets to the hook in less than 15 seconds just to engage the listener long enough to make a profit creating the Spotify Sound. this begs the question, is Spotify ruining music? could this be the end of the music industry? Is trying to get in the spotify playlists killing music? This is just a Musician's perspective.
