It turns out that Yotsuya's Story is essentially a prequel, which follows Miri who suddenly finds herself into a haunted forest, where she's cursed with the ability to see spirits, which will be inherited by all first-born daughters in her family. This explains how Mei got her abilities and possibly Fei Fei's connection to the dark spirits. I also tried New Game+ to see if there are any noticeable differences and so far I only discovered some extra dialogue with an NPC in the beginning who gives you augmentations to make Mei' boobs even bigger (I know, hard to imagine). I may complete the game on this mode to see if there are any additional endings.
