"We have been searching for something that may not be there. Are we aware and awake to the full potential of our enviroment, or are we simply convinced of our enviroment by the potential pleasures that have been calculated outside of our control? Can we not say that awareness outside of what's pursued by our pleasure drive, may not be achievable? We can become aware of truths about reality through evidence & the scientific method, but if those true things are not pleasurable to accept for some minds, they are rejected. I would propose this: build a thought model that attempts to derive thought outside of the pleasure drive. How would that thought come to be? What would be the reason for thinking that thought? I accept the fact that the hardware can be damaged, effected and malfunction, but while funcioning normally, can the brain produce thought without the pleasure drive?"
