In what appears to be an apocalyptic wasteland, a well-dressed older man appears to be stalking a quietly knitting woman...

Before director Curtis Harrington exploded into the professional film scene with Night Tide in 1963 (previously featured on the channel) he tried his hand at several modest, experimental features such as this one. Shot for less money than several expensive dinners, Harrington made full use of the local landscape of Salton Sea California in order to create a look of utter desolation. The two actors in this 6 minute feature are the director's own parents-and IMHO give a rather decent performance. The film reminds me a great deal of the short features of Maya Deren (one of my favorite underrated directors BTW) and I fully recommend it as a nice palate cleanser at the end of a stressful day just before dinner...B&W, Music .
