Every human culture has believed in the existence of other monstrous humanoids, conscious but inhuman. They have gone by many different names: boogeymen, bugbear, cyclopes, giant, jotun, ogre, oni, troll, and yeti. These myths and legends have been passed down from generation to generation and given us some of our greatest heroes like Beowulf or Hercules.
But is there any evidence that orcs were ever real? Well yes it seems that there is and the conflict may have lasted for 100,000 years. In fact there is evidence of halflings, dragons and all sorts of wild and amazing creatures that may have provided the fertile ground from which our fantasy stories spring from today.
