The PM’s decision to cancel today’s so-called ‘meaningful vote’ in a manner that caused the Speaker of the House, John Bercow, to call it ’deeply discourteous’, has angered many MPs.
The Speaker also said:
“This whole proceeding has been extremely regrettable.
“This is not the way the business of the House is ordinarily conducted.”
It also caused the leaders of Labour, the Lib Dems, SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Greens to write a joint letter to the PM accusing her of showing contempt for parliament.
But, aren’t those political parties - and the Tories - showing contempt for the electorate by not fully backing a proper exit from the EU - with that contempt coupled with pro-EU behaviour and words from them being the root cause of the constitutional mess we find ourselves in?
The UK constitution was designed for a sovereign and independent UK and all its ministries and agencies are designed around the constitution. But our politicians have busied themselves for years ignoring the constitution and trying to hive off money and power to the EU to help turn it into a superstate, without telling the people of the UK of their true intentions, nor asking their proper permission.
Now they’ve been found out and people are becoming more and more aware of just how much they’ve given away, as this sorry treachery is unveiled by the actio..
