Civil war - Gods and generals (English Lyrics)

The battle of Fredricksburg was the last great confederate victory of the civil war, leading on to the disastrous Battle of Gettysburg that crushed the confederate army. The army led by General Robert E. Lee set up a camp by the town of Fredricksburg where they were attacked by a union army led by General Burnside as they attempted to cross the Rappahannock river. The rebels were dug in well, and the federal forces suffered heavy losses in 3 separate attacks before being forced to withdraw.
