relaxation 14 - thought

This is not music in the traditional sense. More like musical noises to add to the sound environment at a subliminal level.

Many of the sections of this piece were created using a methodology I developed for composing music called "Long Song." "Long Song" is a simple algorithm that I encoded to play music at CERL Music Lab on PLATO at the University of Illinois in the early 1980's. "Long Song" is a way of mindlessly moving stepwise through a musical domain and all the musical intervals remain consonant. For this piece, I am using my brain thought to realize the algorithm in real time, instead of using a computer program to select musical notes.

Descartes was wrong -- he had the relationship backwards. It appears to really be, "I exist, therefore I think." Thought is product of brain activity and not a separate entity. Sorry Rene, you were still a smart guy anyway.
