The 1972 manifesto of the Parti Québécois holds the key to the 1980 and 1995 Quebec referendums. These supposedly “democratic” exercises were not about “sovereignty” for Quebec. The romanticized and hotly anticipated “sovereignty” intended to be achieved by UDI (a unilateral declaration of independence) after a “yes” vote, was never meant to benefit the French Canadians. It was a means to another end: the complete restructuring of Quebec, and of Canada, into multicultural, international city-states in a regional union with the USA and Mexico under a socialist world government.

Le manifeste de 1972 du Parti Québécois détient la clé des référendums québécois de 1980 et 1995. Ces exercices prétendument “démocratiques” ne portaient pas sur la “souveraineté” du Québec. La “souveraineté” romancée et chaudement anticipée, qui devait être obtenue par une déclaration unilatérale d’indépendance (DIE) après un vote favorable, n’a jamais été destinée à bénéficier aux Canadiens français.
