Improper Integrals Example 4: 1/x^p
In this video I go over another example on improper integrals and this time solve for the values of p in the integral 1/x^p from x = 1 to x approaches infinite, that make this integral convergent. Please note that in the Example 1 of the example video series, see video link below, I have already showed that for the case of p = 1, the integral diverges. In this example I show that the integral converges to 1/(p - 1) for p is greater than 1 but diverges for p is less than 1.
