On August the 2nd, at about 5.45pm, well-known Northland-based freedom fighter and pensioner, 69-year-old Mark Rasmussen was picked up from his home in Ruakaka by police officers and taken to the cells at Whangarei District Police Station, where he was held overnight. He said he was treated well.
On the morning of August the 3rd, he was taken to the Whangarei High and District Court for a hearing at 10am regarding his non-appearance at a Wellington Court a few months ago. The Wellington Court hearing related to his peaceful protesting at Wellington during the protests of February-March, 2022.
This video includes footage taken of his wife Barbara Rasmussen and Mark outside the Court house on August the 3rd. Mark (Raz) describes some of what happened during the hearing.
