In John chapter six, the multitude came to Christ, but only for their own selfish reasons. They were judging Christ and attempting to set His value according to their expectations. Will we allow this world to set our personal value, whether they judge us to be a negative or a positive?
This world will attempt to use force to make us into a mold of their desires, but we must escape from their entanglements, and depart to be alone with Christ.
Can we come to Christ to be in His presence – without asking for anything? They sought Christ only because they thought He could it add to their earthly happiness, and make their life here on this earth better.
If the Lord were to confront each of us as to why we are seeking and coming to Him, how would we answer Him?
