Weiss Schwarz Battles (Casual): Madoka Magica VS Bang Dream
Weiss Schwarz is a trading card game which features many popular anime titles such as KonoSuba, Re:Zero, Persona 5, Love Live, etc. Throughout the game, players play cards to deal damage. You level up when you take enough damage, so you can play stronger cards, but the first player to reach Level 4 loses. It is inherently based on luck and risk-reward (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHkQj0Z74zA).
Players: NuevoEvo (https://www.youtube.com/user/Teh7thingy) VS RailKill
Decks: Madoka/Homura (G) VS Bang Dream TD (R/B)
I wanted to commentate on this casual game to introduce it to new players, but I delayed for far too long, so I just uploaded it. This particular game highlights that Weiss Schwarz is actually quite luck-based, as one of the players was unlucky and unable to pull off what they can truly do, limiting their potential. The official rules can be found here: http://ws-tcg.com/en/images/WSEN_MM_W17_BP_RULES.pdf
The interface as seen in this video is inspired by TeamworkCast (https://www.youtube.com/user/TeamworkCast). I hope that in future, more video editors could use a similar format for card games as it really helps to keep track of events. I also hope that the playstyle in this video can be taken as an example in other Weiss Schwarz games, where players always announce and make clear the actions they are going to take. For example, notice that we always draw our cards one-by-one. For a game such as WS, and its potential Japanese language barrier, I hope others can slow down and make it easy for all players to understand and keep track of what's going on in the game.
