In November of 2021 we visited Dare County's Register of Deeds to look through the records of deaths for years 2020 and 2021. According to the Register, there was 1 death in 2020 that listed Covid as a contributing factor in death. In 2021 up through November 5, there were 10 deaths listed. For residents who died outside the County, there is no method available to the public that tracks where these people died, so we weren't able to find how many more deaths were Covid-related. Dare County Health and Human Services listed the 2021 Covid related death count at 21 at the time this video was produced - November 5, 2021.
