After some heart to heart exchange regarding Cassie-Fooky's brilliant idea for a video on vampire control, Cassandra just wants to enjoy the simple things in life. Like catching some environmentalists in the most obvious lie ever. Some guys and gals from the University of Calgary decided to claim that this interglacial period, our beloved Holocene, had been already abnormally long. A little cut and paste on a figure they have next to the statement proves that this is a very short legged lie, possibly a contender for the shortest legged lie ever.
Of course, some content from that most reviled source, Wikipedia (and the girls from the Legion have been suspecting for quite a while why some people so much want to discredit it) proves not only that the Holocene interglacial is not the longest in any way, shape or form, but that interglacial periods are getting shorter and shorter and, quite frankly, colder and colder.
So, yes, you can trust academia about as much as you can trust the press.

Using redshift to find exoplanets and then finding you did not find them. With a very strong feel as to be in the same class of cluelesness as the ignorance about actual ancient sea levels.
