The Academy Awards held on April 25, 2021 were the lowest rated ever, dropping 75% from 2014 (from 40mm viewers to under 10mm). Moreover, the show infamously spouted a number of memes, including those that pointed out homeless encampments were moved so as not to disturbing the celebrities awarding Best Picture to a movie about homelessness. But is it the performers' fault? Or any of the artists? Or is it merely corporate Hollywood paying no attention to its real job. The answer may surprise you.
