Some general guidelines -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Drink water out of a glass container, rather than plastic
- Don't eat food off plastic plates or bowls. Buy some ceramic dishes. Get red colored plates and bowls, as the colors red and tellow increase appetite
- Always try to add spices to anything you eat for more nutrition.
- Don't eat raw vegetables, cook them. More nutritionally available
- Frozen fruit and vegetable are more nutritious as they are harvested later. Also much cheaper.
- When you indulge in sweets, get something that pairs with milk, so you can get a decent amount of protein. Peanut butter cookies are a good example
Decent staple recipes for strength that are cheap ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Chicken, turkey, and pork will almost always be the cheapest meat available
- Chicken curry with rice. Look into different kinds of rice for variety, like black rice, wild rice, ect.
- Chicken soup - Use bone broth, and bullion paste to increase protein content. Barely is also a good way to add protein, and is cheap. Small potatoes are also a good cheap addition for carbs, boil them whole.
- Cheese burgers
- Corned beef and cabbage soup
- Pork chops
- Organic whole milk
- Eggs - Omelettes are the best way to add other cheap ingredient like tomatoes and onions
- Hash browns - Shred a bunch of potatoes, sweet potatoes, some cheese, and diced onions, and mix them together. Freeze these in zip lock bags to store them.
- Greek yogurt - Add frozen fruit and some granola, and this is a cheap way to eat dessert, and also intake a lot of protein
- Beans - Although they should be paired with meat, as you would have to eat a large volume of beans to fulfill protein requirements for strength training. Try to eat a variety of beans for a more complete amino acid profile.
