France: Le Pen wants 'French money for farmers not migrants'

The president of National Rally party Marine Le Pen visited the Paris International Agricultural Show 'Salon de l'agriculture,' the biggest convention on agriculture in the country on Thursday.

As she walked between cheering supporters and cattle, Le Pen took a stab against French President Emmanuel Macron and his position over the Common Agricultural Policy, the EU's major subsidy on agriculture.

Le Pen accused Macron of aiming to lower the subsidies, saying that the "President of the Republic who comes to tell us that he is against the reduction of CAP [Common Agricultural Policy, EU's agricultural fund] subsidies, but who is part of a group called 'Les Liberaux' in the European Parliament, the ALDE, which is the group that defends the reduction of CAP subsidies for France."

Le Pen also said that the lowering of subsidies for French farmers is done "to be able to free up money to welcome migrants in particular. At some point, you have to stop. This is insane. I am sorry, but I think that French money should go more to farmers than to migrants."
