Director Segundo de Chomon brings to the screen what is widely regarded as the first 'Haunted House' film, replete with amazing feats of stop-motion, shifting scenery, potentially dangerous stage magic involving actual flames, image-within-image superimposition and stuntwork. Given that the actors were so heavily made-up so as to appear actual parodies, Chomon obviously intended this to be a horror-comedy...Silent, B&W.
