"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise and what is weak in the world to shame the strong [I Corinthians 1:27]; God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are [I Corinthians 1:28], so that no human being might boast in the presence of God [I Corinthians 1:29].
