Australia has been talking for years about banning large cash transactions. We've been reporting on it for years. They've also considered pulling the $100 AUD note from circulation. Well now it's finally being pushed to the forefront of the news and it's just one example of how Australia is pushing towards a fully cashless society that many critics believe will take hold 100% in the next five years.
Naomi Brockwell breaks down the latest news on the cashless system in Australia and whether there are some Chinese style ulterior motives considering the smart grids in places like Darwin and digital passports being pushed in the airports.
All bad things by government come under the guise of "convenience."
Considering Australia is in a technical recession and interest rates are falling like a rock, this could very well mean people won't be able to access their funds when they need to and banks can get away with bail-ins if they need to.
Naomi talks about the many solutions to this problem, mainly things like Bitcoin. For those that find that ironic, Naomi explains the clear differences between the centrally planned cashless society via legal tender laws and the decentralized properly fundamentally useful cryptocurrencies and blockchain infrastructure technologies that can truly replace the old bankrupt banking system.
