Geometry 11.3b, Volume of Cones

An explanation of how to find the volume of cones using the volume of cone formula. We find the volume of a cone with a given radius and height, we find the volume of a cone with a given base circumference and a height that is 3 cm less than twice the radius, we use the Pythagorean theorem to find a height, we then explore the effects of changing dimensions and what happens when the length, width, and height of a rectangular pyramid are multiplied by 1/4. For last example we find the volume of a 3D composite figure that contains a cone and cylinder, then we see what happens to the volume of that composed figure if the cone is inverted into the cylinder.
