Good Father’s Day afternoon, I’m still reporting on potentially the most important coming event in history.
This very interesting article in last Tuesday’s Jerusalem Post finally caught my attention this morning:
“Israel warns Assad, will bomb palaces if Iran operations continue.”
In other words, Israel has secretly told President Assad of Syria that if he continues allowing an Iranian buildup of advanced arms on Israel’s northern border, Israel will bomb his palaces to oblivion. This world development is going totally unnoticed by the American mainstream media, yet it could have far more cataclysmic consequences than the war in Ukraine.
“The alleged threat follows after Israel allegedly bombed Damascus International Airport, targeting Iranian shipments. Israel has threatened to bomb Syrian President Basher Assad’s palaces if he does not cease or reduce military cooperation with Iran within his territory, the Arabic news site Elaph reported late on Monday.”
Here is a photo of Damas International Airport on June 9, just hours after the Israeli Air Force bombed the runways of both the civilian airport and the military airbase side. Both runways were hit with three precision bombs a few hundred yards apart, rendering both runways useless until repaired.
Taking out a military airport is one thing but rendering the civilian side useless is quite another.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the airstrikes in remarkably strong terms.
“We strongly condemn Israel’s provocative attack on the most important object of the Syrian civilian infrastructure. [Such] “irresponsible actions create serious risks for international air traffic and put the lives of innocent people in real danger. We demand of the Israeli side to stop this vicious practice.”
Never mind the blatant hypocrisy here.
Putting the Damascus airport out of commission is the third strike against targets in Syria blamed on Israel in less than a week as Israel tries to interdict and destroy Iran’s military presence there, especially regarding advanced weapons.
Of course, the Biden/Obama regime is no friend of Israel and the “why” bears repeating. Several years ago, a major figure in Egyptian intelligence identified Obama on Egyptian TV as international head of the Muslim Brotherhood. The result is that Biden, no matter what he says publicly, will be no help to Israel.
According to the Jerusalem Post report:
“… the escalation also occurred as relations between Israel and Russia have deteriorated somewhat over the Ukraine war, leading Moscow to give Iran a freer hand in its operations in Syria….”
It is easy to imagine that one more step in this escalation pattern could trigger a response that could run out of control. And this is where the prophecy of Damascus comes in.
Isaiah 17:1
The pronouncement concerning Damascus:
“Behold, Damascus is about to be removed from being a city
And will become a fallen ruin….”¬¬
Damascus claims to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world, and the only major city in the Middle East to have never suffered a destruction. And by “destruction” we mean complete and utter destruction that is chronicled in the Bible concerning Jerusalem, for example.
The vast majority of Biblical scholars believe that Damascus has never seen a complete destruction – “a fallen ruin” according to Isaiah 17:1 (NASB).
In today’s era, such a destruction in such a region of the world, could probably only be accomplished by an exchange of nuclear weapons.
Why is this important? Because if Isaiah 17:1 is truly prophetic - then this prophecy is yet to be fulfilled and the final battle of Armageddon followed by the return of Christ cannot occur until Damascus is destroyed to the point where it could accurately be called a “fallen ruin.”
