He focused his remarks on his “America First” policies, which he said should be emulated by other world leaders who wanted to strengthen their own nations and international institutions like the U.N.

He directly addressed Mexico and other Central American nations, saying migration from these nations to the U.S. was destabilizing, and said opponents to his administration’s immigration and border policies put their politics ahead of migrants' well being.
