SoundCloud is Dead for Composers | Composer Thoughts

This is why I stopped uploading my music to SoundCloud. For Composers Soundcloud is dead and not worth to be a music distribution platform. Composers should not upload their music to SoundCloud as it does not anymore help you to get into music opportuneties.

This week in Composer Thoughts we discuss less about music analysis, and more about composers themselves. When you are a composer, it is important to choose the right music sharing platform. There are places like Spotify, iTunes, Youtube, but one above all for composer back in the day was SoundCloud. Music composer community truly thrived there. You could build up your CV, get into game and film projects and collaborate with hundreds of underground composers to build up your music network. Nowadays SoundCloud is only a place for SoundCloud rappers and because of changed that happened in 2016, the platform died and Soundcloud for composers does not excist anylonger.

I'm done with soundcloud, and its not worth it. In this video I explain why you should not use it anymore. As a composer you should go to a platform where you are financially stable with your work. You have to go as an artist to where the listeners are, and because soundcloud deleted the group feature, and charges money both from artist and listener, there is no use to use SoundCloud anylonger. Spotify and Apple are going to be the biggest music streaming services. SoundCloud is irrelevant music platform.
