Their reworking of the Billy Paul classic gave the group their biggest hit for several years, reaching #4 on the R&B charts and #47 on the US Singles chart. This, the original group, changed its billing to "Ron Banks and the Dramatics" as two former group members, William "Wee Gee" Howard, and Elbert "Al" Wilkins had now formed their own group calling it The Dramatics too, so to avoid confusion their producer Don Davis and Stax Records urged the remaining group members to add "Ron Banks and" to the beginning of the group's name.
