This Thom Bell and Linda Creed penned song was originally titled "Keep Growing Strong" and was released as a single by Connie Stevens in 1970. A year later Thom Bell recorded the song with Stylistics' lead singer Russell Thompkins Jr. and some background singers (without the other group members). The song was retitled and included on the the group's self-titled debut album which Thom Bell produced, and was released as a single in 1972. it reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart and #2 on the R&B chart, and reached #13 on the UK Singles Chart in July 1972. The single sold over one million copies globally, earning the group a gold disc.
