We can see by this passage that those "Christians" who claim that baptism is not necessary are going against the counsel of God, just exactly as the Pharisees and lawyers went against God's counsel when Jesus was speaking to them in Luke 7. Yet, you cannot be baptized without repenting of your sins. You must stop, then be baptized according to the very counsel of God!
