Violin Concerto in A minor, BWV. 1041 by Johann Sebastian Bach

Bach most likely completed this concerto for violin in 1723 while living in Köthen, central Germany. In 1717 Bach was offered the position of Kapellmeister (director of music) at the court of Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Köthen (a province in what is today central Germany). Bach would hold this role until 1723 when he was appointed the position of Thomaskantor (director of church music) in Leipzig.

The work is comprised of three movements:
I. Allegro
II. Andante
III. Allegro assai
