This total lunar eclpise took place April 15th 2014. Totality was around 3am.
On the night before, I filmed the nearly full moon from about 3am to sunrise. On eclipse morn, I captured the moon from when it rose above a tall Ficus hedge (to the east), until it set around sunrise.
A GoPro has a huge field of view, so the poor little moon is just a bright blip. In software, I "zoomed in" on the huge images to extract a sub-image (640x360) centered around the moon. I strung these sequences together in three different ways. 1) the raw rgb images. 2) Black & White histogram equalized images 3) Colorized with a random color look up table. The "Fun" part is all of this image processing using the Python Imaging Library!
