The Day the Earth Stood Still was one of my favorite movies as a boy. I saw it a few times on the TV show "Family Classics" with Fraser Thomas on channel 9 in Chicago. When I first moved to Los Angeles, in 1986, this store Grey Goose was displaying a statue of Gort. My friend Mark Stevens (may he rest in peace) pointed it out to me and I always think of that when I drive by the store. Later, I got a job colorizing Black and white movies at CST Entertainment. I worked on colorizing "The Day the Earth Stood Still." The colorized version has never been shown and is stored somewhere in the video tape vaults at FOX.
