RED FUMING NITRIC ACID SYNTHESIS

HOW TO MAKE WHITE FUMING NITRIC ACID...........This is an easy experiment......just add 2 things together and distil out your product at 83 C.........if i stopped with white fuming acid i got a 50% (21mL) yield and if i distilled all the way up to 120 degrees C then i got a 70 %yield which was 30 mL out of a possible 42 mL..............if i just want it concentrated at 68% then i just need to add water to dilute it down to that. the NO2 gas that is in the acid will also react with the water i add to create more nitric acid so my yield would be higher than 70 %.........TO MAKE WHITE FUMING ACID JUST TAKE THE RED FUMING ACID AND PUT A VACUUM ON IT TO REMOVE A LOT OF THE NITROGEN OXIDE GASES..................FUMING NITRIC ACID..........I DID THIS EXPERIMENT AGAIN AND I GOT A 93% YIELD INSTEAD OF A 50%. I ADDED 28 mL (1/2 MOLE) EXTRA SULFURIC ACID FOR EVERY MOLE OF SULFURIC ACID USED IN THE REACTION. AND I USED A VIGOREX COLUMN. AND I GOT A 93% INSTEAD OF 50%.........SO 1.5 H2SO4 + KNO3.........INSTEAD OF H2SO4 + KNO3
