After leaving San Francisco and moving to Pittsburgh, we had hoped to start a community organization that would host everything from art walks to music events. We wanted to start community gardens and improve the neighborhood and help these blighted areas see their full potential. We thought we'd start with a vacant lot that is directly across the street from us. All the images you see in this video are our neighbors. Unfortunately, when a state of emergency was announced on March 13, 2020 and the Defense Production Act was invoked, with the goal of killing all small business infrastructure, our vision to be community organizers was killed. Once again, JP & Julie found themselves having to scramble to reinvent themselves as artists and creatives with a vision rarely recognized by the outside world.
