Priceless 15th century artwork restored with ‘humanoid sheep face’
Art historians were shocked after the painting Ghent Altarpiece, by Jan and Hubert Van Eyck, also known as the Adoration of the Mystic Lamb, revealed a human-like face after a 2.2 Million pound restoration project. It was thought that the disturbing human features were painted over 100 years after the painting was first unveiled in 1432. So what does it mean that the original work was of a sheep made to look like a man?
Surprisingly, there seems to be eerie connections with Sumerian mythology, Renaissance UFO art paintings, and even an 1866 Masonic George Washington pictograph.
