Sky News host Alan Jones says the “unconstitutional” NSW-Victoria border closure continues to deliver economic and emotional ruin as he cites yet another example of the closure inconveniencing a resident of regional Victoria.
The harsh border clamp is stopping Warracknabeal farmer Chris Taylor from travelling from COVID-free Warracknabeal in Victoria to his farm in Euston, a little place on the banks of Murray River in NSW.
Mr Taylor has 1500 sheep in NSW which he is wanting to feed.
NSW bureaucrats said to get the hay to the NSW side of the border he would have to take it to Melbourne, 350kms, have it flown from Sydney where it would have to remain in quarantine for 14 days and then freight it to Euston.
The recommended procedure would cost Mr Taylor $50,000.
“Oh Alan it’s completely mad as far as I’m concerned,’ Mr Taylor told Sky News.
“I’ve been two weeks trying to get a permit to go visit my farm, and still to this hour, I can’t do it.”
“Do these people running the country know anything about agriculture or business?” Mr Jones said.
“Do they know anything about anything?
“We are being run by arrogant morons, politicians and bureaucrats.”
