Despite his annoying shortcomings, Mark was one of the most decently human people I ever met. As I told his daughters when I met them as adults, "Mark was the type of person that wanted to make the world a better place and he was willing to do his part." He will always be missed.

Mark died of cancer in 1998. Sometimes I think that he was taken up in "The Rapture" with a few other lucky souls, and the rest of us had to stay behind to witness the end of times and survive as best we can.

Mark and I were friends in College. We spent many hours goofing off, smoking bongs, playing music, and especially talking philosophy. I was more well read, but Mark had more "integrity" in his inquiry. Later when I moved to Los Angeles, I lived at Mark's apartment till I found a job and an apartment (six months later!!!). Sometime before we lived together, Mark recorded this tape of some poems he wrote. Then he moved to New Jersey, got married and had two children. Mark died of cancer twenty years ago and I still miss him greatly. His wife gave me permission to post his poetry. It is more meaningful to me today than it was thirty years ago. Life goes on. take time to smell the roses and look at the sky. Peace.

The music is all by Brian Eno and published. Mark used this music as a background texture. Recently Brian Eno claimed copyright and all proceeds go to his estate. Nevertheless, we are lucky to be able to hear Mark's voice and thought at this later date accompanied by such interesting harmonies.9/17/2019
