The situation would be funny if this was a Marx Brothers movie. But the fact is that, right now, apart from the very blasted remnants of the Ukrainian army, the only battle hardened army (as in with modern weaponry and large numbers of combat-experienced troops) is the Russian. Western mercenaries who went and left because they were being shot at actually describe the Western war experience: advantage players who shot and are not shot at on a regular basis. Say what you want, but a roadside bomb is not the same as being reduced to ashes by a Grad missile. And that is the point. Some people even point out that some Russian generals have been removed. Precisely, war allows to discover that some people in your military hierarchy actually are better employed somewhere else, preferably far away from a military command.
So, no, the great idea behind destroying the Russian economy through economic sanctions so that Western oligarchs can pocket the Siberian wealth is not only going terribly wrong in the economic front, with Europe in deep shit if there is no change in the leadership in the Western countries, but also has given the Russians the chance to polish their army. And getting some examples of cool Western hardware, like HIMARS and CESARE long range artillery.
Yep! Idiocy seems to engulf Western leadership. We guess that is what happens when your rulers only care about the economic bottom line and business opportunities, because we need to grow exponentially. Money, money, money!
Well, the only good thing coming of this is that the New World Order seems to be managed by the same kind of people who ensured that the One Thousand Years Reich would last 12... Cheer up!
