I discuss the Twitter campaign #PublishingPaidMe, where authors shared the amount of money they received for book deals, with the intention of highlighting the discrimination against black authors. I argue that although I support authors being transparent about what they're paid, these anecdotes don't prove discrimination. I'm a former publishing industry insider, and I think my thoughts on the subject are reasonable, but this could be a controversial one. I welcome comments!
