Dawn Anzac Day Services Held at Taji Military Complex in Iraq

Members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and New Zealand Defence Force marked Anzac Day at the Taji Military Complex in Taji, Iraq, on the morning of April 25. Around 350 military members and guests, including 20 members of the Singapore Armed Forces, took part in the dawn service, according to the ADF in the Middle East. Addressing troops, Colonel Jason Groat said: “I hope it stirs in you a sense of belonging to something greater than yourselves – belonging to a few that chose to serve, to do their duty and to protect their nation’s interests.” Following Groat, Lieutenant Colonel Darren Beck troops: “The ranks of veterans of more recent conflicts in Korea, Malaya, Borneo, and Vietnam are steadily thinning.
