The Burlington Police Department-NC released multiple body cameras, picture and details after a bystander smartphone video was posted on social media of an arrest made on October 4th of Bobby Lamont Harvey where 3 police officer were injured.
On Friday at around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Dailey Street to investigate an assault.
The officers say Bobby Lamont Harvey, 41, was uncooperative during the investigation and assaulted his arresting officers.
Bobby Lamont Harvey and the officers were treated at Alamance Regional Medical Center and released with non-life threatening injuries.
He was charged with three counts of felony assault on a law enforcement officer and resist, delay and obstruct.
Burlington Police Department chief statement:
"The Burlington Police Department places value on transparency and professionalism. The purpose of sharing this compilation video of the arrest made on October 4th of Bobby Lamont Harvey is to clearly show the community what actions were taken by officers of the Burlington Police Department. Many of you have seen the bystander video that was posted on social media. This compilation video takes the bystander video and syncs it up with the footage from the Body Worn Cameras of the responding officers. The Burlington Police Department is a Trauma-Informed police agency and is concerned with the psychological welfare of everyone in our community. Body Worn Camera footage can include upsetting or traumatic images. This Body Worn Camera footage is released at the request of Chief Jeffery Smythe by Superior Court Order."
