Bio movie of a rebellious war-veteran from a wealthy family who rejects war and the upper-class lifestyle. He demonstrates this, at one point, by casting off his rich man's clothes and walking naked in the town. He is soon joined by other ex-soldiers. He became a respected guru, helper of the poor and animal rights advocate. Although he lived hundreds of years ago, he was very similar to the hippies of the 60s and 70s. The city of San Francisco, which was a magnet for many hippies, was named after him. While some hippies were drugged and decadent, others were sober and spiritual. A true hippie is a free-thinker.
