Today's homeschooling movement happened in the 1970s, promoted by educators who strongly believed that parents must adapt the homeschool program to their children's interests, not vice versa. And what started as a marginal activity for a number of parents has now grown to the point where it comprises the academic foundation of about 3.4% of US students (about two million students). Nonetheless, even with its increasing popularity, a lot of moms and dads find homeschooling to be difficult, particularly if they're working from home at the same time. And even if the children are older and becoming self-reliant, approaches to telecommute and homeschool at the same time may be challenging to develop. Therefore, the tips in this video provide some basic guidelines formulated by expert homeschoolers that may be helpful to you if you're new at balancing your work-at-home responsibilities with the task of homeschooling.
