Hollywood Expose and Analysis Part 2 - Going from Hollywood to Universal Studios

Brian and Mr. 31 tour Universal Studios for a day.
Unlike most other studios, Universal is built on and into a hill. Most of the studios were built in the San Fernando valley...likely to be more low key at the time via flight from the East...accessed through the Laurel Canyon hills...ie. rather isolated at the time.

"Decoding" what we see...we pass through a gauntlet of shops and restaurants, which. like Disneyland, is meant to tap into our "consumer" programming which has been broadcast and programmed into most of us since birth.

Admission cost is around $100 US...(if you buy them on line in advance much cheaper.)
Other studios also offer tours...but Universal tour is the oldest.

Regardless, the design features of the buildings are quite impressive.

The WATERWORLD exhibit was closed, but I highly recommend it, it is an amazing stunt show....check beforehand if what you want to see that it is open.

The Harry Potter village is amazing...re detail and scale. We lined up for what we thought was a ride....but we enter this 2 story room with hundreds of fake boxes of wands...watch some silly acting with wands and their powers...then exit into a store room SELLING wands. Talk about brainwashing !

The Harry Potter theme involves witchcraft, so be aware of the subtle "Hollywood" programming, one of our main expose' themes.

The main "tourist" items to sell are ie: GOWNS for $119...Sweaters for approx $80....Hats for approx. $50..etc.). The Wand stand had almost 50 different wands starting around $28 up to over $50. As I alluded to..the wands and the other items are most likely manufactured overseas for pennies on the $$$. Just a heads up if you plan to attend with children.

Regardless....There is lots to see as well as many free rides.
