Qur’an alone – so what next?

So now you are Qur’an alone – seen through Hadith and religion. What next?

Typically, people are confused: before it was simple, now so many different opinions.

But was it simple before? Actually, no. There were thousands of different opinions. You probably never looked under the hood of that. What’s happened (typically) is that you have compared one subset of all the different versions of Islam with the Qur’an and seen the contradictions. But there is not just one Islam, there are many.
Don’t go looking for a replacement religion. The Qur’an presents principles. You are meant to use your brain.
Example: the Traditionalist is forever looking for specifics. But how to you have patience?

Problems with Qur’an alone, also:
Endless circular thinking and reasoning
Opinions out there which are half-baked, or just words without writing
A parlour game, people have forgotten the Last Day and good works
You will always have to give account for what you accepted. There is no way out of that one:

And fulfil the measure when you measure
And weigh with the straight balance
(That is good and a better interpretation)
And follow thou not that whereof thou hast no knowledge
(The hearing
And the sight
And the heart
Each of those is to be accounted for) (17:35-36)

Read the Qur’an for yourself and reflect.

Stick to the basics:

Say thou: Come, I will recite to you what your lord has made unlawful for you:
That you ascribe a partnership with him ­­to anything
(While towards parents good conduct)
And kill not your children out of poverty
(We will provide for you and for them)
And approach not sexual immoralities
(Whether open or concealed)
And kill not the soul which God has made unlawful
Save aright.
That he enjoined upon you
That haply you might use reason.
And approach not the property of the fatherless
(Save with what is better)
Until he reach his maturity.
And fulfil the measure and the balance with equity
(We burden not any soul save to its capacity)
And when you speak be just
(Though he be a relative)
And the pledge of God fulfil.
That he commanded you
That haply you might take heed.
And this is my straight path
So follow it.
And follow not other ways
For then will you be parted from his way.
That he commanded you
That haply you might be in prudent fear. (6:151-153)

It is God who guides. Al fatihah is a contract between us and God. If we keep our part, will he not keep his?

God wrongs not even the weight of an atom.

And if there be any good he multiplies it and gives of himself a tremendous reward. (4:40)

So now that you know that, what would you do about it? What skills do you have? Where do you think you can make a contribution or a difference? We have different skillsets and aptitudes. That is for a reason.
