So this building has a long history. For many decades it was the AFSC, American Friends Service Committee offices. This was a Quaker social justice project that seemed to get money from somewhere for all sorts of activist work. Now AFSC is a shell of its former self with no large public presence. Currently the "IWW" International Workers of the World and "DSA" Democratic Socialists of America; have offices there. Both of these groups seem to be getting outside support in order to afford this building. My hunch is that this incident is a false flag by Antifa, based on my experience of them doing similar false flag events. (Red and Black cafe). Also the slogans were off. I am sure "fuck antifa" would have been used rather than the almost complimentary "antifa house" which actually presupposes that Antifa trumps heh heh DSA and the IWW. The "smash communism" also is ambiguous both the IWW and DSA would in fact distance themselves from the Bolshevik nightmare and would call themselves something other than "communists". Also ominously, "smash communism" could be read as a threat... communism will smash! this of course is really what antifa is about Here is another link. Worth a long look.
