Recently the New York Times published an article alleging that YouTube's recommended video algorithm was inadvertently curating highly sexual playlists involving children. While independent media had gotten wind of this problem several weeks ago, the story never took off among the mainstream media. The recent #VoxAdpocalypse sucked all the air out of the room.

Was this by design? Is YouTube using the #VoxAdpocalypse to cover up an even greater scandal?
