George Washington Resigns His Power as General to Civilians

One thing we often discuss his power how it's used and we analyze it in the context of human sinfulness. One of the few times in human history that power was used and then responsibly returned to the people was done by the hand of George Washington. At the Maryland state house the congress operated for a time during the mid 1780s. This is the very room where he resigned his commission.

As I get ready to release "shipwrecked in the land of king tobacco: The first Washington immigrant to America," I can't help but get goosebumps when I see it.
