This video is a follow on from the previous fifteen videos dealing with the topics I’ve just mentioned. If you haven’t seen those videos, I would recommend you doing so before watching this one.
Let’s continue on talking about the war we are in and the MSM.
Consumers of Information – Junk News - Our responsibilities – Purchasing Power
We are all, each and every one of us, consumers. As consumers, we buy goods and services that we need, or want. Maybe, once we have bought the necessities of life, the things that we need, the essentials like food and drink, we might be lucky enough to have some disposable income which enables us to buy the things that we want.
Staying with this idea, it could be said that we are also consumers of information. Perhaps we don’t buy bits of information in quite the same way we might buy any other products, but nevertheless, we still do, in some way, buy bits of information.
Perhaps we can think of the act of buying information as being similar to shopping for food.
I think it’s safe to say that we are all creatures of habit. We tend to go to the same stores and supermarkets and we perhaps also tend to buy a similar range of food items week in, week out.
The same with media outlets. We all have our particular media outlets that we watch on television, or whatever websites we visit and channels we view.
In accord with this idea, we consume information in much way same that we consume food. We take it in. We ingest it.
“Junk news” & accepting responsibility
To my way of thinking, we need to be as careful when it comes to consuming information that is presented to us as we might be when we are consuming food.
I’m sure I’m right in saying that we all should be aware that a diet of “junk food” is not the best for our health and well-being. By the same token, the way I see it, “junk news” can be considered as not being good for our general well-being either.
But, it must be acknowledged that no one forces us to eat junk food. We are not force-fed junk food. It therefore must be considered as a choice that we make. Eating junk food is a choice. If we eat junk food, then that is the choice that we make. By eating junk food on a regular, on-going basis, the person makes that choice on a regular, on-going basis.
