On January 7th 1978 in Rome, two young activists of Fronte della Gioventu MSI - Franco Bigonzetti and Francesco Ciavatta were ambushed by armed communists, who murdered the pair in cold blood.
A third young man - Stefano Recchioni - was killed by police in the ensuing unrest followed this unprovoked massacre.
On January 10, 1979, riots broke out in memory of the killings during which police officer shot and killed Alberto Giaquinto, then 17-year-old activist.
