An explanation of how we can add two or more addends by using addition properties. We review the Commutative Property of Addition from video 1.1, which says we can add in any order and get the same sum. The Associative Property of Addition, which is often called the Grouping Property, states that we can group addends in different ways and still get the same sum. We also show an example of using both properties together to make addition easier. We make compatible numbers, doubles, or tens to make addition easier.
